In order to import the new license, please follow the steps below.
- Go to https://my.rsa.com.
- Enter your user ID and password.
Note: To download the files, you must login to myRSA as the user whose name is on the order. If you login as another user, you will not be able to see the files.
- Next to the myRSA logo, use the search bar/dropdown menu to select the company, It is possible to see more than one company listed, so confirm the correct address and site ID before continuing.
- Click Products on the left hand menu.
- Click RSA SecurID under your products:
- Click on the RSA SID Access Virtual Appliance, highlighted in red below to start the download.
- From the drop down menu, select your Authentication manager version.
- Scroll down the page to find the License section.
- Check the box in front of the license.zip file.
- Check the box for the End User License Agreement.
- Click Download in the bottom right corner.
- The <serial number>.zip file downloads.
- Open the .zip to find the RSA Authentication Manager_<Serial number>_license folder containing the .xml file(s).
- Open the .xml file with a text editor.
- Make sure to verify the user count you currently have installed compared to the newly purchased user count
Note: If you encounter any issues and the number is not accurate please contact the Customer Asset Management team at RSA
- It is highly recommended to take a snapshot of the server and/or launch the Operations Console the navigate to Maintenance > Backup > Backup Now. When the backup is complete, save it in a secure location off the server.
- Login into the primary Security Console as a super administrator.
- Navigate to Setup > License > Status.
- Click View installed license.
- Select an installed license and click Yes, Uninstall License.
- Click the Uninstall License button. Repeat steps 19 and 20 for remaining licenses.
At this point, do not restart the Authentication Manager server. Install the new license right away. Do not reboot the server or restart Authentication Manager services until you complete the next steps. Rebooting the server or restarting the Authentication Manager services while there is not a license installed can cause irreparable harm to the server which will prevent the software from starting and may require a factory reset. Note: This will not affect any authentications or cause any business disruptions at all, no users or authentications are impacted. There is also no need for a restart of the Authentication Manager and no need to apply the license to any of the replicas; only on the primary.
- Go back to Setup > License > Add New. Browse to the folder containing the new license.xml file and select it.
- Click Next and verify the information regarding the license is correct.
- Click Install.
