RSA Announces the July 2021 Release of RSA SecurID Access

The July 2021 release of RSA SecurID Access contains the following features.
 
You will be able to integrate Help Desk operations for SID700 tokens into your own provisioning or management tools. These APIs apply to hardware token records that are uploaded to the Cloud Authentication Service. This is a limited release specifically targeted for Cloud-only deployments. For more information, see the Release Notes.
 

SecurID SDK 3.0 for iOS and Android to be Released in July

You can build your own custom authenticator app using the new SecurID SDK 3.0 for iOS and Android. Offer your users a way to authenticate with convenient Multifactor (MFA) options and SecurID software token, while seamlessly maintaining a similar look and feel across your existing applications for a better overall user experience. Significant changes to identity source synchronization are coming in future releases. Beginning in July, users will automatically be synchronized to the Cloud Authentication Service in real-time, eliminating the need to schedule synchronization tasks. These changes ensure that just-in-time synchronization will become the primary method for keeping your identity sources up-to-date. Connections between identity routers, directory servers, and the Cloud Authentication Service must be fast enough to respond within the expected window before connections time out. The changes will occur according to the timetable provided in the Release Notes.

Cloud Administration Console URLs Expected to Change in September 2021 Release

Beginning September 2021, the Cloud Administration Console URLs for your company will change to include your company subdomain. For example, if you currently access the Console with https://na2.access.securid.com/ and your company subdomain is "example," you will access the Console with https://example.access.securid.com. As a result of this change, the Cloud Authentication Service will be able to dynamically redirect your administrative requests to a suitable environment if a problem is detected that affects service availability. New and Updated Third-Party Integrations from RSA Ready 

The following integrations were recently completed by RSA or certified by RSA through the RSA Ready Technology Partner Program. For Implementation Guides, see SecurID Access Integrations.

  • Cisco Umbrella (update, Cloud Authentication Service) – Cloud-delivered enterprise network security which provides users with a first line of defense against cybersecurity threats. Supports identity provider (IdP) or relying party initiated.
  • CyberArk Password Vault Web Access (update, Authentication Manager/Cloud Authentication Service) – a CyberArk component that enables you to access and configure the Privileged Access Security Solution over the Web. Supports RADIUS & SAML protocols.
  • MessageMedia (update, Authentication Manager) – Update to configuration for SMS Gateway provider MessageMedia.
  • Ivanti/Pulse Secure (update, Authentication Manager/Cloud Authentication Service) – Connect Secure VPN updated for RADIUS (Authentication Manager/Cloud Authentication Service) and SAML (relying party).

SecurID 4.0 - Unification is Coming!

Authenticator Apps Unite! The SecurID app for iOS and Android will soon combine both Software Token and MFA functions into a unified app. Simplify the management complexities of your hybrid deployment and minimize user disruption as part of your cloud-only migration plans with the same authenticator app. RSA SecurID Authenticate 3.9.1 users will be able to  easily migrate existing credentials over and experience improved usability and greater accessibility.

Modernized User Interface for the Cloud Administration Console

The Cloud Administration Console will soon have an updated, modern look that works more efficiently, improving usability and accessibility. The main menu navigation bar and Publish bar are redesigned. Here is a sneak peek at the dashboard page:

RSA SecurID Access is on Track for FedRAMP Authorization

The Federal Risk and Management Program’s Joint Authorization Board (FedRAMP JAB) announced it is prioritizing RSA SecurID Access for a slot to work with the JAB to achieve a Provisional Authorization to Operate (P-ATO). By prioritizing RSA SecurID Access, the JAB – the primary governance and decision-making body for FedRAMP, consisting of the CIOs from the Department of Homeland Security, General Services Administration, and Department of Defense – signals that RSA is on its way to securing access for federal agencies and public sector organizations in the cloud.
