Issue
After a reboot, the RSA SecurID Appliance shows the prompt to enter the BIOS password. After entering the BIOS password, the appliance enters BIOS. Exiting BIOS results in a reboot and after the reboot the BIOS password prompts shows again.
Cause
Intel BIOS has an option to interrupt boot if there is a hardware error detected during POST. If this option is enabled, this behavior will be encountered.
Resolution
When prompted to enter the BIOS password, try the following:
  1. Enter the BIOS password at the prompt.
  2. At the BIOS interface Main tab, change POST Error Pause from Enabled to Disabled.
  3. Navigate to the Exit tab and select Save Changes and Exit.
  4. The appliance should reboot itself and start loading the operating system normally.
