Modern Experience
The SecurID Authenticator 5.0 for MacOS is flexible and meets customer needs regardless of deployment architecture. It is available for both classic SecurID Authentication Manager and cloud-based SecurID MFA customers. A wide breadth of authentication options are available, with multi-factor authentication methods varying from push to approve, biometrics, and Authenticate one-time passcode. With a simple design, the modern user interface makes authentication a seamless experience.
Versatile Functionality
SecurID 5.0 for macOS is designed keeping global users in mind. It supports all languages available in SecurID iOS4.x - English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, Italian and Korean. Support is extended to new M1-based and Intel-based Macs with the most widely used OS versions, facilitating platform upgrades without any limitations.
Seamless Transition
SecurID 5.0 for MacOS is a unified app that supports both SecurID Authentication Manager managed software tokens and Cloud-based MFA options. These combined methods of authentication provide a frictionless access experience for end-users, yielding lower requests for admin assistance and increasing overall productivity. To provide users with a simple transition path that minimizes disruption, it leverages the functionality presented in the SecurID iOS app 4.x and can replace the existing RSA SecurID Software token 4.2.x that macOS users may be operating.
Path Forward for Existing Users:
Current SecurID users leveraging the RSA SecurID Software token 4.2.x can switch to the new app by swiftly importing the token records in SecurID 5.0. Provisioning to end users can be done by way of dynamic seed, file-based (SDTID files) or compressed token format (CTF). It is important to note that the existing RSA SecurID Software token 4.2.x does not support cloud-based MFA on macOS. Current users will not be able to upgrade directly from 4.2.x to 5.0 - migration is expected to be supported in future releases.
Swift Adoption for New Users:
The process for onboarding new users is straightforward and efficient. To utilize cloud-based MFA options, the macOS device needs to be registered leveraging SecurID MyPage. The self-service portal provides an accessible interface to have users up and running in no time.
To leverage a hybrid deployment with both on-premises and cloud functionality, on-boarding new users is an equally seamless transition. The process remains the same: a software token is provisioned from AM, and registration is completed on MyPage for MFA.
