Issue

Issues using the RSA Authenticate App with Face-ID on Android devices.
Resolution
RSA SecurID Authenticate 3.6 for Android app now supports face recognition.

Devices must meet the Android security specifications and have a strong rating to allow the use of Biometric authentication (face recognition and fingerprint) within the Authenticate app.

However, this is only supported by Android devices that have a Biometric security classification tear of “Class 3 – Strong” only.

For example, the Pixel 4 device supports strong facial recognition technology since from our perspective, the Google Pixel family of devices that do support Facial Recognition natively will be rated “Class 3 – Strong".

Users should check with their device vendors to confirm if their devices are compatible and the below document by Google has described the different rating systems.

Also, as of now, we do not support “Trust Unlock” nor do we have plans to add that authentication method to our offering.
