Safe Upgrade Checklist:
NOTE: All upgrades should be done through the 'root'
1. Stop the Primary (master) ACE/Server:
- cd /.../ace/prog
- ./aceserver stop
- ./sdconnect shutdown
2. Verify functionality of the Replicas (or slave server) (test authentication)
3. Back up Primary:
a. Run 'sdcompress -s' on the server database
b. Run 'sddump -s' on the server database
c. 'cp -r' the /.../ace directory to another partition for backup
4. Check daemons to ensure that no RSA ACE/Server services show started (e.g. ps -ef | grep ace)
5. Patch or upgrade:
a. Run your OS patch on Primary server
b. Install your RSA ACE/Server upgrade, patch, or hot fix
NOTE: OS patches should only be applied when no ACE/Server daemons are started
6. Bring down all replicas (or slave server)
7. Start ACE/Server services on primary
8. Do a functional test to ensure the operation of your Primary ACE/Server (upgrade replicas prior to bringing them back online). NOTE: On Replicas, the backup steps are not required.
9. Upgrade the Replicas
