Clustering with RSA Validation Manager
Clustering is the use of two or more instances of RSA Validation Manager, running on separate machines, to provide fault tolerance and enhance performance. The nodes in the cluster maintain a shared database for status and configuration data, and each node can respond to any incoming OCSP request. A third-party load balancer is needed to make the cluster appear as a single OCSP server to OCSP clients. The load balancer will also distribute the OCSP serving load among the nodes, and ensure that requests are only directed to functioning nodes. This helps to attain optimal performance and fault tolerance. Failed nodes may be restarted and will automatically join the cluster again. From the main menu, select Configure System.
