Issue

Error 1500

Getting ReadEventLog Failed with error 1500, example:

( 177) WAITING 172.19.40.30 Security Microsoft Windows XP ( 300 + ) Tue Dec 11 08:28:58 2007 (ReadEventLog failed: error 1500 ())

Cause

This error is encountered when one of the event logs is corrupt. Reading the message indicates to you which one it is. In the example shown above it is the Security event log that is corrupt although it is possible for this to occur on any log.

Resolution

To allow enVision to be able to start recording events clear all events from the specific event log. To correct the root cause of the problem you must contact Microsoft support for assistance on identifying what has caused the initial corruption as this is outside the scope of RSA support.
