RSA File Security Manager (FSM) 2.1.0.9
RSA File Security Manager 2.2
RSA File Security Manager 2.2.1
Backup and Disaster Recovery procedure for v2109:
Steps for FSM Adapter Manager Recovery:
For Adapter Manager, take the backup of Datafiles from c:\Program files\RSA Adapter Manager Common\
Re-install Adapter Manager on any machine and replace Datafiles folder with the backup Datafiles.
If the Adapter's machine name is modified, it does not influence any changes in Adapter Manager, because it checks the IP address of the machine first and then machine hostname.
i.e. If the IP address of a machine is modified but the hostname is same, Adapter Manager can still have the connection to correct adapter, but in Adapter Manager it still shows the old IP Address.
Steps for FSM Adapter Recovery:
- Always have backup of the DataFiles folder from C:\Program Files\ RSA File Security Windows Adapter \
If there is a problem with Adapter Service on the Host Machine:
- Uninstall the Adapter and restart the machine
- Delete the "RSA File Security Windows Adapter" directory from c:\Program Files\
- Install the Adapter software again
- copy the Datafiles folder from backup to C:\Program Files\ RSA File Security Windows Adapter \
- Restart the FS service (VKSSecureFS) from Windows Services.
If the Adapter machine is broken:
- Install the operating system
- Make sure that the machine have same Machine name and IP address
- Make sure that the machine have same local Users and Groups
- Restore the secured objects from backup to the same location
Eg. c:\test\1.txt is a secured object before machine was broken and you have the backup of 1.txt, now copy the 1.txt to the same path (C:\test\) on new machine
- Install the Adapter software
- Copy the DataFiles folder from backup to C:\Program Files\RSA File Security Windows Adapter \
- Restart the FS Service (VKSSecureFS) from Windows services
Now at the Adapter Manager,
- Select the Adapter Machine
- Select Security - Policy Manager
- Select the users and groups under Roles and click Reconfigure User/Group
