RSA File Security Manager (FSM)
Microsoft Windows 2003 Server SP3
Microsoft SQL Server
Getting this error when user log son to the box as with their username
FSM Adapter Manager can not access the database
User account does not have access to the MS SQL database
When FSM was configured, Windows Authentication was used. The account used to setup FSM had access to the MS SQL database, but the user logon account doesn't.
The user's logon account must also be setup to have access the MS SQL database used by FSM, or change the FSM configuration to user a database account instead.
From the FSM Manager guide:
**** If using Windows Authentication to connect to the SQL Server database
Before you create the data store account using Windows authentication mode, The NT User must be added to security logins in SQL Server Management Studio. To add NT User to security logins, see Appendix A
In this mode, you need not specify a user name and password to connect to SQL Server database. Your access to the database is controlled by the Windows account that you use to login to your machine.
