Assign a Hardware Token to a User in the User Dashboard
Before a user can use a hardware token to authenticate, you must assign the token to the user. You can assign up to three hardware or software tokens to a single user. Tokens that are managed in Cloud Authentication Service (CAS) do not count towards the three token limit.
RSA recommends that you do not assign more than one hardware token to a user as this may increase the likelihood that users will report a lost or stolen token.
Before you begin
Procedure
In the Security Console, go to the Home page.
Use Quick Search to find the user.
Select the user to whom you want to assign a hardware token.
Under Assigned SecurID Tokens, click Assign More Tokens > Assign Hardware Tokens.
- Select a token from the list or search for a token in the search bar.
- Click Assign Token(s).
After you finish
Distribute the hardware token:
- If the user is located within close proximity, instruct the user to physically collect the token.
- If your organization is large and geographically dispersed, distribute the token by mail.
