Attaching a hardware replica that is running 8.1 to a primary on 8.2

I am trying to attach an Intel Hardware appliance running 8.1 to my primary instance running 8.2.  During the quick setup the replica will not attach due to the versioning being off.  How do I go about attaching the new replica?

Since this question relates to your Authentication Manager deployment, I am moving it to the https://community.rsa.com/community/products/securid?sr=search&searchId=13424599-c3ce-48e4-89c2-860a4f372f9f&searchIndex=0‌ space for follow up.

you need to get the 8.2.0.0.0 hardware appliance factory image burnt to a DVD, interrupt the boot sequence and boot the Intel box from DVD, and it will rewrite the system into an 8.2 appliance. Then you can boot it w/o the dvd, enter a name and IP and set it up as a replica.
