Checkboxes do not work correctly on the Import/Export Metadata page in RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle

Issue
In RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle, the purpose of the Import/Export Metadata page (Admin > Import/Export > Import and Admin > Import/Export > Export) is to filter and then select objects to import/export. You can also apply filters to the import/export table (second half of the page) to restrict the items that are chosen for import/export.

If there is more than one page of items to select from, checking the items and then navigating to another page will cause the unchecked items to be re-selected. Additionally, the total number of items selected will be incorrect. As long as there is only one page of items to import or export, the problem does not occur.

The example below is of an Export Metadata page and illustrates the issue when exporting metadata:
  1. One item is chosen:

  1. Go to the next page. Notice it still says only one item is selected but all the items on the second page are checked so this is incorrect.

  1. Go back to the first page. Note that all the items are checked and not just the item that you originally checked. Also note the number of selected items is incorrect as the number of items currently selected is no longer one.

In some instances, if the system cannot resolve the selected items correctly, the screen may display the following error message:
 
The request could not be handled.

Whether this is a metadata import or a metadata export, the maximum amount of items that can be either imported or exported without encountering the problem is 50 items which is the maximum number of items that will fit on one page.
 
Cause
This is a known issue reported in engineering tickets ACM-101482, ACM-100376 and ACM-99393.
 
Resolution
This issue is resolved in the following RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle versions and/or patch levels:
  • RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle 7.0.2 P15
  • RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle 7.1.0 P09
  • RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle 7.1.1 P04
  • RSA Identity Governance & Lifecycle 7.2
Workaround
To workaround this issue, the methods are slightly different for the metadata import versus the metadata export.

Metadata Import

To workaround the issue for a metadata import where the exported file contains greater than 50 items, choose filters in the top of the screen that restrict the table of items to be imported to one page (maximum of 50 items.)  To import more than 50 items, repeat the process, importing 50 items at a time until you are done. If the file to be imported has 50 or less items to import, no workaround is needed.

Metadata Export

For a metadata export, choose filters in the top of the screen that restrict the table of items to be exported to one page (maximum of 50 items.) To export more than 50 items, repeat the process, exporting 50 items at a time until you are done. If you have more than 50 items to export, this process will create multiple export files which although inconvenient, can then be imported without any additional workaround.
