Configure Browsers to Trust Cloud Access Service

Depending on browser, application, and portal configurations, the browser might prompt your users to allow location collection each time they complete authentication. Users can configure their browsers to prevent these browser prompts. Provide instructions to users on how to do this.

Before you begin 

Update the instructions below with your company's Cloud Access Service (CAS) URL. This is the website or URL that your users should trust. You can find this information in the following locations:

IDR SSO

Portal Hostname and Authentication Service Domain specified in the identity router configuration

My Page SSO
  • Portal URL specified in the application configuration

  • (HFED applications only) Proxy Hostname specified in the application configuration

Relying Parties

  • Service providers: Location value of the SingleSignOnService element in the IdP metadata.
  • Microsoft Entra ID: Authorization Server Issuer URL on the Connection Profile page when you add or edit Entra ID.

Procedure 

Complete the following instructions for each browser that you use to access protected applications.

Instructions

Google Chrome

  1. Click the Chrome Menu icon on the far right of the Address bar.

  2. Click Settings> Show Advanced Settings.

  3. Under Network, click Change proxy settings.

  4. In the Security tab, select the Trusted Sites icon , and click Sites.

  5. Enter your company's CAS URL, then click Add.

  6. Click Close > OK.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Try to access a protected application.
  2. To allow the website to access your location, select Yes.
  3. To allow Microsoft Edge to access your location, select Yes.

Firefox

  1. Try to access a protected application.
  2. From the Share Location drop-down menu, select Always share.

Safari

  1. Try to access a protected application.
  2. Select Remember my decision and don't ask me again and click Allow.
