Resolution
- In the StealthAudit console, under Jobs, right-click on {Job name} and select the Explore Folder option.
- Locate the folder that contains the XML file associated with the Job. The file is located in the Job folder; the name of the folder varies with the name of the Job. The format of the name should be JOB_{n}-{Name}_SCAN, for example, JOB_1-AD_SCAN.
- Locate the XML configuration file associated with the Job. The name of the file varies with the name of the Job. The format of the name should be JOB_{n}-{Name}_Scan.XML, for example, JOB_1-AD_Scan.XML.
- Right click and select Edit to edit the file.
- In your editor search for PINGTIMEOUT and locate the timeout value for the connection. The default value is 4 seconds, as shown here:
<PINGTIMEOUT>4</PINGTIMEOUT>
- Increase the value (in seconds) to the value that you wish for the new timeout.
- Test with higher values for PINGTIMEOUT until you are satisfied with the reliability of the connection.
- Save the file and exit the editor.
- Return to the StealthAudit console. Highlight the {Job name} and right click on it.
- Choose Refresh Tree to have your changes take effect.
