Issue
  • When the RSA MFA Agent for Microsoft windows MSI installer is run - It opens an Upgrade Wizard.

  • Clicking on Next - MFA agent fails to Install/upgrade. The message "Upgrade stopped"  "Your system has not been modified, To upgrade the RSA MFA Agent at a later time, run the upgrade again" is shown.

  • When searching for "RSA" MFA Agent software does not show up in the Installed Apps list (Apps & features), or the Add/Remove Programs (appwiz.cpl) list.

  • Right-click the msi file and try to either Repair or Uninstall, fails with message - "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."

  • A manual uninstall through PowerShell fails.

Cause
Software List - Inventory lists the RSA MFA Agent for Microsoft windows. Previous installation was "not" completely uninstalled. The MFA Agent software installation has corrupt Registry keys and the operating system is preventing new programs from being installed or prevent existing programs from being completely uninstalled or updated.

Once complete - run the RSA MFA Agent for Windows MSI, the installer would now open the - Install Wizard and be able to install the software successfully.
