Issue
How to correct Appliance setup error: SDlogin error unable to communicate with Authentication server
On step 6 of the Appliance setup, the Administrator was assigned a token and when a test authentication was attempted the following error was seen: SDlogin Error : Unable to communicate with Authentication Server
Resolution

Skip step 6 and go to step 7, restart the appliance and the setup should complete successfully.

NOTE: These symtoms will also occur if the license imported on the appliance failed for some reason. To confirm if this is the problem, view the file:

C:\authmanager\installfiles\configurereport.txt

and verify if it contains text similar to this:

Configuring Primary 1.2.3.4  Machinename

1 file(s) copied.

1 file(s) copied.

RSA Authentication Manager Configuration Utility 6.1 [300]

unable to read license. sdconfig exiting...

Error: Configuration Failed 1

The next step is to verify the license files are valid by calling RSA Technical Support.
