Microsoft SQL Server
RSA Access Manager 6.0
UNIX
Unknown administrator password
During installation the installer was prompted to choose a username and a password for the Access Manager administrator. These values do not work due to an error during installation.
An image of the installation software was transferred from a Windows file system across to the UNIX system by archiving the files into a ZIP and then unzipping on the UNIX system, whilst the actual data was transferred correctly the permissions on files were lost. Key scripts which would have set the correct values during installation failed to execute (and the error messages not noticed on the console) and so the installation whilst appearing complete had failed.
Ensure that the installation software is only ever copied or used direct from the CD-ROM and has not been stored on a Windows file system.
If an archive file needs to be created to transfer the installation software across the network then ensure that the initial archive is created on a UNIX system. The file format does not matter (ZIP, TAR, AR, CPIO etc) but if created on a Windows system is likely to lead to errors dur to corruption of the required permissions.
For full details of the installation procedure see the documentation on the CD-ROM or online in RSA SecurCare Online
