KevinConway (Customer) asked a question.
Hi,
For budget purposes, our team is trying to forecast how many RSA Software Tokens to purchase. We are a little unclear as to when the timer on the Token Expiration starts with the tokens. Does the timer on the expiration begin when the Purchase Order is approved and the Payment is made or does the timer begin on the expiration starting from when the token batch is imported into the RSA Security Console?
Thanks,
Kevin C.
Kevin:
Neither one. The expiration date of the software token is baked into the seed record itself. If you look at the token seed record, or view the token in the database, it will likely expire at midnight UTC. We normally include a buffer period in the tokens; if you purchase 3-year or 10-year tokens, we include a few extra months for the tokens to be downloaded and distributed.
