ISAPI filters sdiisflt.dll and sdiischk.dll Status appears as 'Not Loaded' Note: the filter referred to as sdiisflt.dll actually points to sdiis.dll

Article Number

000018195

Applies To

RSA ACE/Agent for Web
RSA ACE/Agent for Windows

Issue

ISAPI filters sdiisflt.dll and sdiischk.dll Status appears as "Not Loaded"
Note: the filter referred to as sdiisflt.dll actually points to sdiis.dll

Cause

IIS reporting of filter status is misleading

Resolution

When additional Web Sites (virtual sites) are configured on the IIS server, it is possible that more than one instance of the same filter is selected by protecting more than one Site.  The first instance will load the ISAPI filters sdiisflt.dll and sdiischk.dll, while each additional instance will "fail" to load the filter because the filter is loaded only once.

This is a reporting error in IIS and should be considered normal behavior.  As long as one instance of the filter is reported as "Loaded", the filter did load and is operational.

To check the filter status, open the property sheet for each Web Site (right click on the Site or select Action, then select Properties) and select the ISAPI Filters tab.  The Status window for one of the Sites will display a green up-arrow for each filter to indicate that the filter is loaded.
