Issue
RSA IMG Software Installation [migration path] requires clarification reviewed installation docs but need simplified clarification on migration path from appliance to compatible server [appliance-like, local database] installation.
Tasks
The process to resolve this requires heavy reliance on the new version's Installation Guide. Each step shoul-d be followed based on the guidelines within that documentation
Resolution
The steps to address the general scenario of migrating to a newer version are as follows:

1) Make sure you have a hardware setup on your environment that matches what is laid out in the Installation Guide
2) Install the new version of IMG
3) Patch IMG to the most recent patch
4) Install any relevant developer patches or hotfixes provided to you specifically for this patch
5) Import a database dump from your current version
6) Bring any customization over to the new version of IMG from your previous install. Please note that unless explicitly stated otherwise, we cannot guarantee that any customization will continue to work in any version of IMG other than the one it was explicitly provided for
7) Migrate the database
Notes
Depending on which version you are starting with, there may be intermediary migrations required to bring the database dump onto the targeted version of IMG. Please defer to the Installation Guide for the targeted version of IMG.
