RSA Via Lifecycle and Governance (L&G) unexpectedly displays the message "Unable to register service AuthenticationService"

Issue
Browsing to the L&G 7.0 login page deployed on WebLogic unexpectedly displays the error: 
Unable to register service AuthenticationService.
Cause
This error will occur if, when configuring each data source in the WebLogic administrative console, the new-for-7.0 configuration step listed as Step 3 on page 66 of the RSA Via L&G 7.0 Installation Guide:
 
3.  Edit the configuration for each data source, go to the Connection Pool tab, uncheck Wrap Data Types and configure the Set Maximum Capacity Value according to the following table:

WPDS150 (This is the recommended minimum; heavy loads on workflows may necessitate a higher setting.)
WPDS2150 (This is the recommended minimum; heavy loads on workflows may necessitate a higher setting.)
WPDS3150 (This is the recommended minimum; heavy loads on workflows may necessitate a higher setting.)
Resolution
To resolve this issue,
  1. Perform the configuration step as documented.
  2. Expand the Advanced options/
  3. Uncheck the Wrap Data Types parameter, which is checked by default.
